Kirin needs tubes

We had an appointment with an ENT surgeon last night and they do want to put tubes in Kirin's ears. He said they just don't look so great. So we have a pre-op visit on June 29th and surgery on June 30th. It's supposedly not so bad and the kids recover quickly. In & out and a month out of the water. After that, there's not a whole lot they can't do. No diving under water more than 12" and we're good to go. Hopefully, when they fall out on their own in about a year, she'll have outgrown the problem. He explained that it's quite common for living at this altitude. Kid's ears just aren't necessarily developed for it. Interesting...

Throwing fits...

So the Terrible Two's are striking early. I spend so much time showing what a cutie pie Miss Kirin is, that I feel it's only fair that I also show what a stinker she has become. This is her face down throwing a tantrum! I'll try to get it on video next time. Trust me, we have lots of opportunities... Such as the other night: Keinan is quietly lying on his little Spiderman cushion he has, with a blanket, a drink, and his favorite cartoon on the TV. Kirin walks up to him, yanks him by the hair, and pulls him off HIS cushion! Keinan obliges by crawling after her saying, "Sorry, girl...sorry..." Once she has him removed a respectful distance, she walks over to Keinan's cushion, and plops her chunky butt right on down! I sat back watching to see how it would play out. Keinan submissively crawls over to her side, and curls into fetal position on the floor next to her. I was cracking up! He's so sweet to her and he loves her so much. But hey...not fair. I intervened and explained that Keinan needs to be a little tough on her and not let her get away with so much, I plucked her up so Keinan could resume his little partay he had going on, and took her out of the room. Girls! Ugh! :)
